Episode 43 - Haunted Roadtrip: Ohio & West Virginia
Another week, another double stop on our haunted roadtrip across America. Episode 43 is a journey through what some refer to as the most haunted locations in the country… we’re heading to Ohio and West Virginia. First up in Ohio is the Fairfield County Infirmary followed by the first haunted school of the season… Madison Seminary. Wrapping things up we’ll visit the Mansfield Reformatory, otherwise known as the Ohio State Reformatory. Then we head into West Virginia with two infamous locations: Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum and the Moundsville Penitentiary, known as the West Virginia Penitentiary. This episode has everything from a haunting deep dive into the American history of asylums, the prison where the Shawshank Redemption was filmed, a haunted recreation area known as the “Sugar Shack”, a penitentiary so violent it ended up on the DOJ list of the most violent correctional facilities, a reformatory for young boys with good intentions that simply fell short, and a former school that pivotal role during the Civil War.
