Angelique courageously shares her personal experience with Lipedema, a chronic condition that is frequently misunderstood. Angelique Charles, also known as the Lippy Butterfly, hails from Phoenix/Tempe, Arizona, and has southern and Creole roots. Angelique is a proud graduate of Grand Canyon University and is a fun-loving church girl. She enjoys singing, traveling, and having fun with her friends. After, losing her mobility at the age of 32 due to undiagnosed Lipedema and subsequently living in a nursing home, it threatened to take her life and everything she loved.

At the age of 35, Angelique was diagnosed with the rare condition that affects many people who suffer from it. It took a long time to identify, but now that she knows what it is, she's making it her mission to educate herself and others about the condition. Angelique is determined to regain her mobility and continue doing the things she loves. The Lippy Butterfly is her journey to reclaiming her life.
