The subprime mortgage crisis in 2008 cost Americans 8 trillion dollars financially – all a result of lowering the standards of offering mortgage loans. Every time we lower standards in any arena, the ultimate outcome is human suffering. We must love enough on the soul and society level to raise standards – morally, educationally, and in every other arena of life. When we raise standards souls and society can thrive. If love isn’t tough, it isn’t love.
