On this episode of ‘2 Dudes, 1 Barbell’, the dudes talk about periodisation and explain some principles for planning out training - They also introduce two new segments - Dudes Training, where they go through updates about their own goals; and a segment focusing on an expert (which they haven’t got a name for yet) where they talked about Dr Huberman and Dopamine


  • 00.35 - The dudes introduce their new segment ‘Dude Training’ where they talk about how their training is going - They start with Adam, he talks about how he started running again and tangent off on possible benefits of increased cardio
  • 09.10 - John briefly goes into how his training is going, including his failed attempt at a 260kg Deadlift
  • 12.58 - What is periodisation? The dudes go into some variation of periodisation including - linear, undulating and step loading
  • 29.45 - What are macro, meso and micro cycles? The dudes talk about block periodisation 
  • 36.12 - The Expert Segment! The dude talks about Dr Andrew Huberman and some lessons they’ve learnt from him in terms of dopamine
