So many people look all over the world to find satisfaction. They look to money, fame, power, and all sorts of other things to find even a tiny bit of satisfaction. They often even look to sin itself. But, time and time again, they fail to find even the smallest hint of satisfaction or joy. Could it be, then, that perhaps they are merely looking to the wrong places?
The only one that is going to satisfy our souls eternally is Jesus. He is the King of king and the Lord of lords. He also just so happens to be the Bread of Life. As the Bread of Life, He can meet all of our spiritual cravings. He can fill us. He can satisfy us completely.
Yet, so many people will treat Jesus as though He were just a magician, or, an ATM. They go to Him only when they need something. Not because they need or want Him. They only want what they think He can offer. That’s a problem. If we’re not going to look to Jesus to be our all-sufficient Savior and satisfying King, we will never find true satisfaction or joy.
To understand this, we will look at one of the most misunderstood miracles – the time Jesus fed over 5,000 people when He started with only 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, found in John 6.
