The title says it all really. Along with a little local history of the Isle of Man, we get to meet Gef, a mischievous mongoose with a lot of talent, who caused quite a stir in the 1930's when he made the acquaintance of a local family.  Confounding scientists, scholars and bus drivers alike, he became quite the local celeb , and if he was around today, he'd probably have more followers than the Kardashians. Was it a hoax? Or a ghost? You can decide for yourself, cos I'm buggered if I know. I can tell you that there is a lot of evidence to suggest that the story has at least some basis in fact, and probably a little in alcohol, too.
