Welcome to the 43rd episode of Let’s Unpack That! We’re two friends, Cal and Chevall, who decided to start a podcast where we analyze media under a critical, appreciative lens. To start, we’re reading the legendary manga Berserk together for the first time and recording our reactions, analysis and BSing about the manga from the late Kentaro Miura, who died May 6, 2021 at the age of 54.
We wrap up the eclipse and that controversial scene that Berserk is known for. For this episode, Cal and Chevall took a different approach for the reading of the chapter and opted not to use visuals (not that we could show them on YouTube anyway). What are the implications of the Eclipse event? What does this mean for Casca, Guts, Griffith and Berserk as a manga?
