Episode 44: The Larynx is Not a Vagina…Teaching Tips with Dr. Bridget Sweet
What tools are you giving your singers to be better equipped? We’ve all seen a picture of a larynx, it’s awesome, but why do our singers need to understand and see it too? Dr. Bridget Sweet, Adolescent Voice Researcher and Associate Professor of Music Education, shares tangible tips for us as teachers to equip our singers. She explains why it is important to include physiological education in the classroom as a way to develop realistic consistency, confidence, and success with our singers, especially those going through the voice change. We also talk about YOUR vocal health as the teacher/singer!
