Process improvements can have a positive impact on patient care and organizational efficiency; however, in some cases, process improvement implementations can cause only 'pockets' of improvement leaving other areas of the organization lagging behind. We talk with Erik Fredrick, MHA the Chief Operating Officer at Pen Bay Healthcare System about how he has worked with Lean Daily Management throughout his career and transformed health systems with engaging incremental process improvements. Erik also talks about the importance of engaging the organization at all levels to ensure that organizational culture reflects the dedication to process improvement. For more information on Lean Daily Management you can view slides and a paper presented at the 2015 Healthcare Systems Process Improvement Conference.
