On the 44th instalment of The Unscathed Life podcast, I have the ever beautiful and amazing Uche Lotanna Anajemba. Uche who I consider to be one of my Mentors is a certified John Maxwell Coach, a Speaker and Trainer. Uche is the founder of Classroom to Boardroom as well as an Entrepreneurship Programme called The Extraction. She is a SERIAL entrepreneur who’s reach and influence spans across a number of industry sectors.
We cover a lot of ground on today’s episode starting with the core of how we evolve as human beings to the importance of launching out early in life and experimenting with different pursuits, so we begin the process of refining what we have been called to do here on earth. The differences between our core purpose and the vehicles of expression which help us propagate our unique messages. Uche also spoke about how truly seeing ourselves as being made in the image and likeness of God supports us in having the self belief and confidence to break barriers, and become multi-potentialites without conforming to socio-cultural stereotypes which dictate that we should be one thing alone.
Despite being many things, at heart, Uche defines her true calling as being a teacher because every single day of her life, she teaches and so she does on today’s show. She teaches extensively on the subject of ‘Waiting’.
Uche redefines the concept of ‘Waiting’, from something that many see as applicable only to a subset of society, particularly in the African cultural context. ‘Waiting’ would usually mean waiting for a child or a spouse, but instead, Uche’s view, which is the truth, is that we all wait as human beings. Whether it is a job, a business or even recognition which measures up to the value we carry.
“The waiting room doesn’t have to mean that life is placed on hold” she says, because whatever you are waiting for, is just an aspect of a bigger vision you have been given to fulfill. She shared advice on how to manage the internal and external pressures during such seasons and also her very personal stories of being in seasons of waiting. Waiting to get married and also waiting to have her son.
Even in her time of waiting, Uche never gave up on her belief that each of those seasons would come to an end and that same hope is what she draws on to teach from today.
Today’s conversation will charge you to always be intentional about manifesting your highest self especially when you are in a waiting season.
