Despite numerous denials by the Russian government of any plans to invade Ukraine - War has now been brought onto the people of Ukraine. Amid the sudden chaos families and people of all ages, races and creeds have been forced to flee towards western borders. What is Putin's plan - to liberate the Ukrainian people from what western officials would say is a democratically elected government. But how did we get here? And through complacency have western nations taken peace on the European continent for granted for too long. And lastly there are wide spread reports of some members of the Ukrainian law enforcement that is prioritising Ukrainian and European citizen on available transport while discriminating against black people who are also fleeing the conflict. Is this the reality of war or is this out and out racism? We discuss in episode 45.
