When selecting women to share during our tribute to International Holocaust Remembrance Day, I found so many who were worth learning about and celebrating. I chose Hannah Szenes for this week's episode because I was really touched by her laser-focus on doing what she could. She never thought of her own safety. She was tough and strong and fearless. She wanted to be a poet and live a simple, quiet, peaceful life. Instead, she ran to help and acknowledged that even if her mission was unsuccessful, European Jews would hear that she had tried to help them.... and that was enough for her.
