Listen Later

On the 47th episode of The Unscathed Life podcast, I have the privilege of interviewing the incredible Edirin Edewor.

Edirin Edewor is a Multiple Amazon Bestselling Author, an award-winning Entrepreneur, International Speaker, Coach, Principal Consultant and Founder at Edagho Solutions with footprints across Africa and the UAE. She is a foremost Thought Leader on Mindset and Business Strategy for Entrepreneurs, as well as the founder of the Online Publishers and Entrepreneurs Network (OPEN), a community of over 29,000 Authors, Writers and Entrepreneurs. Till date, she has helped over 1,500 authors get published online and in print, with more than 200 Amazon bestsellers emerging.

On today’s show Edirin discussed her life, starting from childhood, she gives insights into the things that have contributed to her being the Woman she is today.  We talk about her being the eldest amongst her siblings and how that shaped her perspective on responsibility, organisation and leadership as a whole. Edirin started telling stories as a child to soothe her younger ones when her mother was not home. Little did she know that this would serve as the spring block for her current love of storytelling and would also help her harness the potential in visualisation from a really young age. Edirin shares how everything she visualised as a child has come to pass and how we as humans have very personal powers for creating our own reality, by simply speaking what we want into being.

The conversation deepens and we get the honour of seeing Edirin in a light that is rarely seen. She  speaks of her struggles as a teenager diagnosed with clinical depression, attempting suicide before the age of 20 and finding the will to live through mental health challenges in some of the darkest seasons of her life. She shares about the toll it took on her and her self esteem and how things only got better when she took where she was as her rock bottom and became more intentional going up from then on. And so they did. Things got better, until life threw her another curveball when she was diagnosed with early onset Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2016.

This episode will teach you what it means to be resolute in the face of adversity and how to cultivate a belief system that will help you thrive, regardless of circumstance. You will learn about what it means to truly honour the gift of life and the importance of changing your perspective to one which allows you to draw parallels between the trials you experience in life and the capabilities that are unleashed in you to become a wounded healer, helping others on their respective journeys.
