In this week's Dental Handoff, Dr. Kelly Tanner is joined by dental hygienist and artist, Ashley Kear! Ashley details how she found her passion for both dental hygiene and for art, and the unique way those two interests have come together in her career.

Ashley Kear has been a hygienist for 17 years and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Dental Hygiene program. She works part time clinically and spends the rest of her time I work on her Etsy shop and other artistic endeavors. Ashley has been drawing for as long as she can remember and decided a few years ago - along with some coaxing from friends and family -  to try to turn it into a business!

Ashley sells dental themed items and works with her partner, Julie who is a dental assistant and owns The Dental Gift Shop.
