Around about eleven in the morning on August 4th 1892, prominent Fall River businessman Andrew Jackson returned home early from work feeling very ill. Within minutes of being let in he went into the parlor and laid on the sofa. Unbeknownst to Andrew his wife Abby lay in a guest room on the second floor above him after 19 hatchet blows to the back and head. Andrew was attacked next and given 11 blows to the face cracking his skull in half. Supposedly the only people home at the time were the maid Bridget and the youngest of Andrew’s daughter Lizzie. What followed this tragic and grisly attack was one of the greatest court cases in American history and still leaves us with this question today. Did Lizzie Borden kill her parents?
