It wasn’t long ago that we were getting our first listen to Today Was Yesterday, a new band that this guy Alex Lifeson was working with. Listeners of RushRash911 have heard Chaz and Schatz discovering more about the band every week, and now, it’s mastclass time as they visit with Ty Dennis, drummer of Today Was Yesterday. The guys have a blast getting to know Ty, learning about his very diverse musical upbringing, and the ins and outs of being a professional drummer and getting to do things like:
• Playing with Robbie Kreiger and Ray Manzerek in The Doors of the 21st Century
• Being in Robbie Kreiger’s house band and getting to jam with some of the biggest names in the business
• Form Today Was Yesterday with his partner Angel Barbera, bassist and multi-instrumentalist
• Driving Alex Lifeson home from a gig and having it turn into him guesting on your album
• Getting to play some of your favorite Rush songs with the guy who wrote them
• Getting files from the guy who wrote all those songs, but the files he's sending are songs he's writing with you
• Playing in the ultimate David Bowie tribute band on the side
