Much like last year’s wrap-up show, it feels like this episode has been in the works for a long time. And also like last year, the wait was worth every second. There’s a technical hiccup or two along the way, but such things happen when you’re on a transatlantic call. I should also mention that I think it’s fitting that my final guests of 2011 are Brits, since I’m hoping to reach out to a few more international guests in the coming year.
As is to be expected, this episode is lengthy – matter of fact it’s the longest Matineecast episode ever! It beat the old mark by a mere forty-two seconds, and appropriately enough the old mark was held by the “2010 in review” episode. Guess I got those chapter stops figured out right in the nick of time, eh?
Once again I bring you an episode that is far more collaborative than most, and I want to thank everybody who helped me bring it together. I couldn’t be happier with the results, and it’s a fitting send-off for a year where going to the movies introduced me to so many wonderful people – both around the world and here at home .By the way – For my favorite part of the episode, go straight to chapter seven, or the sixty minute mark.
Finally, if you’re curious about the songs used as bed music, the track list can be found below in the show notes. Many thanks to Shane for helping point me towards additional songs.
Here’s what’s in store in the Ron Guidry episode…
