I'm always asked how I got ahead in my career. These questions usually come from motivated young, fresh out of college kids, or mid-level career folks that want to break into management. I give you insight on what I go through when I am looking for a promotion or advancement. On the flip side, I pose the same question as a manager as to what makes you deserve that promotion. *NOTE: This is merely advice that has worked for me and may not work for you. I want to be clear that I am not saying that you most definitely will get a promotion. I am giving you key insights into the minds of management.
