What is goin’ on everyone? Leon checkin’ in and we are at it again with more content. 

Today we are covering Google killing off yet another app, this one being Google Podcast, which is something I’ve used for hours per day and I’m interested to know if it’s something you’ve used as well? Let us know in the comments below. 

Now from what I can gather, Google Podcast is scheduled to shutdown in 2024 and content is currently being moved to YouTube Music. 

But I can’t seem to come to terms with YouTube Music for two reasons. 

The first is, the app is called YouTube Music and well… Podcast aren’t music, which is why we had Google Podcast. 

Maybe the question is, should Google have rebranded Google Podcast to be YouTube Podcast? Just my opinion, but I think that could have worked. 

But onto the second reason: I’m still not happy with the functionality of YouTube Music. 

In fact, I’ve tried searching for my Podcast, but I quickly gave up because search functionality appears to be less than optimal.

It also seems that there are probably better apps than YouTube music for music and Podcast: Case in point, I’m using Spotify already for music, and finding all my Podcast was relatively easy. 

I’m disappointed that Google Podcast is coming to an end as well for other reasons: It has good search function, basic controls and conveniences like automatic downloads.

It sounds like we will have a migration tool, which will hopefully be easy to work with so we don’t have to manually search for our podcast.
