Today is Day 100 of our series 100 Days in the New Testament. And we end our series in Book 66 of God’s Word, The Revelation of Jesus Christ given to John by God “to show his servants what must soon take place.” (Revelation 1:1)

 

In Revelation 14, we read about three angels who proclaim three messages. In the first angel’s message, the idea of fearing God and giving glory to Him is linked to judgment (Rev. 14:7). If the Bible is clear about any teaching, it is clear that God is a God of justice and of judgment. One day the judgment and justice so lacking in this world will indeed come. But note that the message about judgment is a part of the “everlasting gospel.” If the gospel means “good news”, it means that though we are all sinners and have broken God’s law, when judgment day comes, we will not face the penalty and punishment that we deserve for our sin and law-breaking.
