Series Overview
Chad Powers is a six-episode sports comedy series that premiered on Hulu on September 30, 2025. The story follows Russ Holliday (played by Glen Powell), a once-promising college quarterback whose career flames out after a humiliating mistake and public scandal. Eight years later, he reinvents himself — literally — as “Chad Powers,” donning prosthetics and a wig to walk onto a struggling small-college football team, the South Georgia Catfish.
Inspired by Eli Manning’s viral “Chad Powers” sketch from his ESPN+ show Eli’s Places, the series combines heart, humor, and a little bit of helmet hair. The result is a surprisingly sharp commentary on fame, failure, and the lengths people go to for a second chance.

Episode Guide
Chad Powers sits somewhere between Tootsie and Friday Night Lights — funny, heartfelt, and just absurd enough to work. The show examines identity, redemption, and what it means to love the game even when the game doesn’t love you back.
Glen Powell leans fully into his comedic side, proving he can play both Hollywood’s golden boy and a complete goofball. Steve Zahn is a perfect counterpoint as the grizzled coach trying to keep a small-time program alive. The show’s mix of football authenticity and sitcom-level absurdity hits a sweet spot for fans of sports stories with heart and humor.
