Episode 5: Bernie Rogoff

Bernie Rogoff, a long time resident of Colorado, is originally from New York

where as a boy he played a Robin Hood role, doing what he could to help

people who were less fortunate than himself.

Bernie served in the Korean war as a medic, joined the National Guard,

and later helped create a successful business. Currently, Bernie serves on

a number of committees: The Colfax Community Network, the United

Veterans of Colorado, he’s a commissioner for Veteran’s affairs for the City

of Aurora, as well as being the Executive Director of the Education

Foundation of the Colorado National Guard. These roles allowed Bernie to

display his compassion, generosity, and ceaseless hard work. In the

Podcast, Bernie tells the story about how he met Barak Obama, and gained

the funds needed for the new Veteran’s hospital.

Bernie’s most important causes are children, civil rights, political action and

education. Veterans have a special place in his generous heart, and he has

supported many veterans and educational causes for years.

Bernie is a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who is not

afraid to speak up and voice his opinions. He can often be found with his

partner Jean Greenberg cooking hamburgers ar t picnics or bringing treats

to community gatherings.
