In today's podcast we give our takes on the NBA playoffs, the Indy 500, and lay out some definitions for horse race betting.
Definitions:
- Moneyline - You pick who wins or loses. There is no point spread just a simple win or loss and in the case of soccer you can pick if there will be a draw.
- Spread - The spread is a wager where you can pick if a team will get within or outside a set amount of points or runs. The underdog must get within this number and favorite must get outside this number.
- Over/Under - You pick if the game with wind up with more points or fewer points than a set number that is picked by the betting company.
- Parlay - This is a series of linked bets that if all of them win you get a great payout, but if one of them loses then you get nothing. These bets are notoriously difficult to win.
- Horse Racing
- Win - You're betting on the horse to win the hole event by coming in first.
- Place - You're betting that the horse will come in either first or second.
- Show - You're betting that the horse will place in the top 3.
