Rob reflects on his father's life before and after he emigrated from Ireland to Australia and how his history has driven his life towards its current reality. A dinner party at Rob's place goes badly when Charis clashes with one of rob's flatmates and their vacuous attitudes. Bevan begins treatment, and it makes him very ill. Phil finds out about Bevan's illness, and there is a growing conflict between Rob's brother Chris and Bevan's girlfriend Vicki.
