It's been reported that 1 in 3 of the country's 19 million veterans have been arrested and booked at least once, and currently about 181,500 are behind bars. According to the Los Angeles United Methodist Museum of Social Justice, this country has approximately 700,000 foreign-born veterans, and 45,000 active members, and each year, 5,000 new immigrants join the military. As of 2018, 17 percent of those foreign-born veterans have not been naturalized. This museum had an amazing exhibition of Portraits of Deported Veterans by Joseph Silva.
