To listen well requires a lot of effort. It is worth making the effort if you want to be an effective communicator. And I believe it has got a lot more challenging and complex since the world has moved online and we are working in a number of different ways with the distractions of working from home and communicating through screens for most of the day.
There are a lot of resources out there about listening and it can be quite overwhelming! So, this is the first part of a series of solo episodes I will be recording dedicated to the art of listening.
Hi, I’m Lisa, your host and I have been a teacher and learning facilitator since I graduated in 2002. I know first-hand what a crucial part listening skills play in understanding learner needs and successfully collaborating with clients to create impactful learning experiences.
I have been delivering learning experiences focused on developing communication skills for a range of professionals working in a variety of organisations over the past 12 years in Singapore. Organisations I have worked with include Singapore Airlines, Marina Bay Sands and TikTok.
