Episode Notes
Podcaster, mixologist, and cofounder of Topgallant Radio, Gabriel Mara, joins the boys in studio this week to lend his cinephile’s eye to parsing modern-day terrorism as experienced through the mind of the entertainment industry. Escapism, man nipples, small-town fear, and big-issue questions about the role of communities in pushing back against a rising tide of hate pierce the darkness swallowing so many recent headlines. And of course Patrick Swayze emerges as one of the greatest heroes of all.
BUT FIRST: We learn a bit about friend of the show Gabe as he walks us through several of his podcasts, including Slow Readers and Sex + Violence in a fast-paced interview before our first break…
PHIL gives us a heavy lesson on universal constants, puckered rubber sheets, and befuddlingly bendy Binary Neutron Star Merger fallout (!?) in his SOON-TO-BE-RENAMED science segment…
AND LATER, IN THE SPEED ROUND…Shaun outs himself as an LA Beast fanboy, Phil goes piggyback riding against climate change denial, Dave takes up arms against poor parking choices, and Gabe will take rude drink orders no longer and so much more…on the Whiparound!
