Broadway Physical Therapist Mark Lusk of MVMT Physical Therapy answers all of your most asked questions!
In this episode we cover: Dr. Lusk's journey from professional dancer to expert physical therapist. What it's like to be a physical therapist on Broadway, advice for those wanting to be a physical therapist, how to come back from being off of dancing because of the pandemic, and what exercises are crucial for staying in shape. Also, should dancers run? What is the right way to stretch to become more flexible? and more!
Dr. Lusk enjoyed a 12-year career as a professional dancer and understands first-hand the impact of injuries on athletic performance and emotional well-being, having sustained an ACL rupture early in his career. He has a deep passion to help his patients achieve their highest goals, whether it is returning to the box, getting back onstage, logging their first century, finishing a marathon or simply walking a mile without pain. It is this drive that guides every bit of continuing education in order to bring the most cutting edge and effective treatments to the patient. He created MVMT to address the specific needs of the urban athlete.
Dr. Lusk graduated from Hunter College with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has also worked as a physical therapist on over 60 Broadway shows.
