Today is the 128th anniversary of the Johnstown Flood. We have decided to honor the memory of those that died tragically on May 31, 1889 by inviting the President of the Johnstown Area Heritage Association, Richard Burkert to help walk us through the events of that calamitous day. This was so much more than a flood though, out of that day came the Red Cross as we know it, and a change in legal liability in the United States.
