8PointMMA.com recently got some one on one time with the always entertaining Wes Sims for a quick, 8 point interview in relation to his upcoming fight this Saturday vs. Bobby Lashey in Strikeforce: Miami.

Wes Sims is a UFC Veteran and most recently was a competitor on The Ultimate Fighter Season 10: Heavyweights. He has fought some of the top fighters in the world including Tim Sylvia, Antoni Hardonk, Kimo, Mike Kyle, and Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir. He was picked up as a late replacement in Strikeforce, after a string of embarrassing fight changes for original opponent Lashey.

When asked if he felt this fight was important for his career Wes responded with "It's just another fight, you know I took the fight here on about 5 days notice. They called me here last week, they procrastinated until the beginning of this week, Monday. I signed the contract, now I'm here in Florida training for the fight"

When 8pointMMA asked Sims further about this fight Sims said "I think they are babying Bobby Lashey, giving some opponents that they think he can get some wins on. but, NEWS FLASH: I'm not the guy"

Sims also confirmed his upcoming second fight with Tim Sylvia on March 20th under the Adrenaline promotion, "I've got a fight March 20th, one I have been waiting for practically an entire career, again. I get to beat the hell out of Tim Sylvia. Retire him, put him in some old folks home"

Sims also entertained us when he talked about his "other" plans to make some extra cash "If I get some time I might go work out in the Stud Ranch is Vegas. A thoroughbred like myself, I will make tons of money!"
