https://youtu.be/8zV31_VoNkk WHERE DO YOUR THOUGHTS TAKE YOU?
There are times when thoughts lead us to navigate very dark waters, so much so that fear, resentment and anxiety are fixed in our being, preventing us from continuing our day in peace.
Don't let them dominate you.
Just as a horse tamer works so that the equine follows his instructions, we must take charge of our thoughts. For sometimes they will want to lead us into dangerous terrain.
Putting the Word of God first, what we learned from his love, his mercy, his justice and power, should be what guides our thoughts. In sincere prayer let us put before the Lord what is on our mind, especially if it affects us.
"Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought captive to the obedience of Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:5.
Even if we doubt whether what we think is from God or not, we must ask Him to be the one who filters what is in our mind and heart.
"Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my thoughts; And see if there be any wicked way in me, And guide me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:23-24.
Let good thoughts flow.
Let's choose what stays in our thoughts, let's take into account that we have a filter that the Word of God gives us for it:.
"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, if there is anything praiseworthy, in this think." Philippians 4:8.
Throw away what is not good for you or your loved ones, even those thoughts that go against your enemies or those who hurt you. May your heart not be contaminated and may your thoughts be dominated by God.
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword; and penetrates even to the dividing of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12
