Matthew VanFossan is the author of Through Gilly’s Eyes: Memoirs of a Guide Dog. In his book, Gilly narrates the story of his life as Matt’s first guide dog with insight and humor.

Matthew became blind at the age of 21, and on August 10 he’ll be at Schlow Library and talk about how the challenges and opportunities he has faced have led him to see himself and the world in a new way, perhaps more clearly than when he had eyesight.
