But like many young investors entering the 2007–2009 recession, Alex faced substantial financial loss. The setback forced him to close his startup, leave college, and rebuild from the ground up—an experience he now credits as one of the most transformative seasons of his life.

Pivoting into the aerospace industry, Alex worked his way from a part-time receiving clerk to an executive within a publicly traded, multi-billion-dollar organization.
