Catia "Cat" Garell, MA, OTR, SCEM, ECHM  co-owner of Thrive for Life, talks about how she started a successful home modification business 10 years ago. In 2019, she joined the faculty at USC Davis Leonard School of Gerontology, as an instructor for the "How To Get It Done" Module #2 course of the Executive Certificate in Home Modification (ECHM). Cat and her business partner Damian Sempio, OTR ECHM also started another program called: "Home Mods Mentor," with a focus on mentoring future occupational therapists and professionals in the  home modification business arena.
