Without a doubt some of the most difficult cases we handle are those involving children. A heart transplant at the age of thirteen is scary, but it went well. Just a short while ago she turned fifteen. She told her mother that she wasn't feeling well. Her mother took her to the emergency room of a local facility. The teenager told the nurses there, "I am not right. I need to see someone immediately. I feel as though I am dying." It wasn't until 4 hours later that the cardiologist finally arrived in the emergency room.
