In the small Australian town of Wattleford, schoolteacher Eleanor Whitmore longs for word from her two sons fighting overseas. When she meets a wounded soldier by the creek, she learns the simple things that soldiers crave most, dry socks, a warm meal, and a letter from home. Inspired, Eleanor begins a campaign to send care packages to the front, only to face resistance from townsfolk who see her kindness as loyalty to the Crown.

But compassion, like the creek that runs through Wattleford, finds its own path. If the Water Can Find a Way is a story of quiet courage, community, and the strength to do what’s right, no matter how small the gesture may seem.
