While we have touched on this topic many times, today we dive into the important subject of making time for yourself. In this episode, we discuss why it’s so important to make time, not just for hobbies and friends, but to actually just be alone and have your own ‘me time’. While this can be about self-care, pampering, or, as one of our recent articles suggested, taking yourself on a date, it can also be about just taking a break or going for a kid-free walk around Target. Tuning in, you’ll hear about how, unlike men, we as women often lose our identities as we take on the roles of wife, mother, or career roles, and we often find ourselves compromising and not getting to do the things we enjoy. We discuss how we tend to wait for the right moment to prioritize ourselves but it never comes, how it’s so easy to postpone ‘me time’ if anyone else happens to need something from us, and how depletion tends to sneak up on us because of this. To discover what we’re modeling to our children when we take ‘me time’, why it’s okay to ask others to free us up in order to do this, and the benefits of disconnecting from our phones when we do, as well as many other helpful tips to help us all find balance and avoid burnout, tune in today!
