In May 1997, Patricia Bottarini fell about 500 feet to her death while hiking the East Rim Observation Point trail at Zion National Park with her husband. The trip was planned by James Bottarini as a "second honeymoon" for the couple, but many believe instead that James specifically took his wife to Zion in order to kill her.
