Stuart "The Honeybadger," joins us to discuss his encounter with a B.E.K., "Black Eyed Kid." To preface, here is some history on the egmantic entities.

The phenomenon of black-eyed kids (BEKs) is a relatively recent urban legend that gained popularity in the late 1990s and continues to circulate widely today. According to the stories, individuals encounter children, typically between the ages of 6 and 16, with unusually pale skin and completely black eyes. These children are often described as behaving strangely and instilling an intense feeling of fear and unease in those who encounter them.

While stories of BEK encounters have been reported worldwide, the origin of the legend is typically attributed to two American journalists, Brian Bethel and Terry Chillemi. In 1996, Brian Bethel wrote a blog post about an encounter he had with two black-eyed children in Texas, recounting how these children approached him late at night, asking for a ride home. Brian's experience quickly spread online, leading to numerous similar stories being shared.

The encounters usually follow a consistent pattern. Individuals report meeting black-eyed children in various settings, such as parked cars, front doors, or late-night streets. The children typically request something, like asking for a ride, to come inside or for help, and display an urgent need to gain entry or access. Witnesses often report feeling anxiety, strong fear, and an inexplicable sense of danger in these encounters. Those who have let the children in their homes sometimes claim to experience a variety of negative consequences later on.

Many skeptics argue that the black-eyed children are merely an urban legend or a modern-day adaptation of folklore tales about demons or vampires. Others suggest that the encounters are a product of mass hysteria or suggestible witnesses attributing unnatural behavior to children with various eye conditions or contact lenses.

Despite the skepticism surrounding the BEK phenomenon, numerous stories continue to emerge, often shared on internet forums or through word-of-mouth. These tales have become a popular subject for paranormal enthusiasts and have even inspired fictional works, including books, movies, and TV shows.

Whether considered a genuine supernatural occurrence or an elaborate hoax, the legend of black-eyed kids has intrigued and captivated many, perpetuating an air of mystery and spookiness in the minds of those who enjoy exploring the supernatural and the unknown.
