Do we actually love ourselves or are we self-indulgent? Do we know what it means to love God? If you were called to prove your love of God, how would you demonstrate your results? We can't say that we love God if we do not love our neighbor. That is the measure of our love of God. Demonstrate your love of God with the love for your neighbor.
