The Transformational Coach - Thoughts from my Sofa

Episode 53 - Saying No

Listen Later

I had forgotten, until I started recording this episode, that I have trouble saying No from time to time!  Sometimes it's because I don't want to hurt the person's feelings, sometimes becauseI haven't properly listened to what is being asked!

Whatever, the reason, I thought that if I'm having trouble, then some of you may be in a similar situation!

  • What do you like about saying, "Yes"?
  • When does saying, "Yes" impact you in a negative way?
  • What are you afraid of when it comes to saying, "No"?
  • What gets in the way of you saying, "No"?

  • I'm sure we all know that "No means No" regardless of the situation but some people will be persistent in their asking of you.  It's great to be able to say "no" without feeling guilty so get some practice in!

Stand in front of your mirror and just practicing saying "No" over and over until it begins to feel more natural.  You don't have to say it in an aggressive way but you also don't need to whisper it.  Practice until you feel more confident.

    Remember - PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION!
