We introduce y'all to The American Planning Association (The APA). It advises its members on which urban development trends to follow. The problem is, these trends are a one-size-fits-all solution to public planning. It's why you see bike lanes, roundabouts, complete streets, and the like in cities and towns of all shapes and sizes. Chances are good your city planner belongs to, or at least follows, the APA. They have pull at the federal, state, and local levels of government.
