Yes, it took us 53 episodes to FINALLY do this movie. We don’t want to be so mainstream, so we went off the classics for a while...but we’re back! This week we discuss the 1994 classic, “The Lion King”. We both were very familiar with this movie, Avery more so because she had seen it more recently. We also both watched the new CGI version and did not like it one bit. However, we do LOVE this one! In Part 1 we go through some of the saddest Disney deaths, we talk about the Broadway show, and possible future Halloween costumes for Avery and Joel. In Part 2 we discuss how amazing the music is(duh) and how much more meaningful some of the lines between Mufasa and Simba are than we first realized. This movie is scattered with powerful messages that flew over our heads when we were children, but now we can really appreciate what this movie is telling us. This really is a magical film and one we both treasure. So please enjoy our discussion of “The Lion King”!
