Everything in life is a negotiation!

  • Being respected and knowing everything about where the other person is coming from: “she heard me out or he heard me out!”
  • Summarize what the other person is struggling with, first, then make your point!
  • Vision drives decisions: If a person doesn't have a vision of doing business with you, you can’t put it there. “Why” always creates clarity.
  • In the long run, the hardest people to work with are people who haven't thought anything through.
  • People like being in control more than getting what they want. Learn to balance this with vulnerability in your relationships.
  • The power of correction: the other side will always want to correct you to show that they have power. Involuntary response: a desire to sound smarter than to be right. Be careful to not be triggered by people who know this about you and use you to get personal information.
