That Fertile Feeling

Episode 55 - Changing course in fertility treatment

Listen Later

When you enter fertility treatment you figure that your doctors will know what the right course of action is for you, right? That wasn’t what Instagram user @fertilitytroubles experienced.
On this episode of the podcast, we talk about how - after a series of missed abortions and early miscarriages - she took her journey across four different countries. It wasn’t until her final clinic in the Czech Republic that she got a diagnosis that led her to consider egg donation as an option.
At the time of recording, @fertilitytroubles is 25-weeks pregnant with her first child. We discuss why it’s so important to do your own research and look across borders when you can’t get the treatment you need at home.

Top quotes:
“After a couple of miscarriages and biochemical pregnancies I asked the clinic what could be wrong. Is there something wrong with me or the embryos? They told me it was just bad luck. And that there was no indication that I couldn’t get pregnant.”
“They really damaged me. Just because they weren’t honest. If they would have said in the beginning, your AMH is good, you have a lot of eggs, but your egg quality may be poor because of your age, and that might be causing all of these early miscarriages. Then I would have known the facts.”
“Now I know it is not because of my body. It’s no other reason but egg quality.”
