If you’ve been on Occupation Wild before the name Northwest Youth Corps probably sounds familiar!  Serving locations in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho they have become one of the most popular companies on the site.  We were lucky to have Nate Zantizinger, NWYC’s Community Engagement Manager come on as a guest to give us a better understanding of what it’s like to work at the Northwest Youth Corps!

Nate always loved the outdoors and took a detour from the traditional route in college which lead him to the Northwest Youth Corps and his passion for conservation work!  Nate walks us through his start in conservation corps work, what to expect in the field, what his team looks for when hiring field crew, and why work for NWYC or any conservation corps is a great place to start your outdoor career!  From getting to work outside every day, sleeping under the stars each night, and lifelong friendships, it's easy to see why so many people are applying to conservation corps jobs!
