After rescuing Val and Vakri, Kas and Checkers find themselves once again at their camp and outside of Val’s mind.  In the morning, Selv returns and tells the others what he has been up to all night.  It is finally time to tackle the next obstacle in their path… the large crevasse which cuts the landscape in front of them.
