This week's woman was known by many names: Mama Africa, the Empress of the African Song, and Zenzi (her African name that was a gift from her mother). The world would come to know her as Miriam Makeba... and they would LOVE her talent and positive spirit. At least, until she starting using her voice to directly criticize the apartheid government of her home country of South Africa.
