Ahoy hoy

Todays episode is going to be a heavy one, so buckle up.

In January of 2002, Spotlight, an invesitgative team from The Boston Globe, dropped an article with the headline 'Church Allowed Abuse by Priest for Years'. This article not only discusses some of the crimes of John Geoghan, but the cover-ups committed by the Archbishop of the Boston Archdiocese, Cardinal Law.

This episode explores a little into the investigation, the cover-ups, some of the crimes committed by Geoghan, and the domino effect from this first Spotlight article being released.

If you are looking for more information regarding this topic. I do recommend you reading 'Betrayal: The Crisis in the Catholic Church" - written by the Spotlight Investigative team, as well as 'Sex, Priests and Power: Anatomy of a Crisis' by Richard Sipe.

There is also a website which has a lot of resources regarding testimonies from survivors, as well as a database of priests who have sexual abuse claims against them.
