The sysadmin role is considered, in my opinion, the glue that binds many aspects of an IT organization. The sysadmin is the escalation point for the helpdesk and desktop support. They work hard on keeping the lights on and work with various engineering teams to further improve the overall efficacy of the environment. The sysadmin also works with lines of business, like HR, in the new hire/termination process. A very challenging role, but one that can pay off in your future successes.
